Schools out.

Wow, what a year.

A bit of back story before I proceed:

I'm a student at the Art Institute of Vancouver, and have been since April 2007. I am taking interactive media design. This means that I get a bunch of courses relating to graphic design, but I get more coding classes. I have a long commute to school, and very little free time outside of homework to get things done.

If I went to school full time, I would have been finished my program in late September 2008. As it stands I can only afford to take a 60% course load, so I'll be done my program in September 2009.

I also work as a freelance computer consultant.

Ok, on with the present:

I've just finished my 7th quarter of school. Since July I'm at the stage where I'm getting group projects more frequently. I absolutely HATE group projects because I have a strong work ethic. So strong that I have spent around (and some cases over) twice the amount of time on homework than was "scheduled". Scheduled is about 1:1 with class time. I have a 3.8 out of 4.0 GPA. Basically the first year I was getting a B+, A-, and A.

I've raised that since April.

I am extremely happy with how my classes are progressing. Well, except the group projects. At least those I am only getting graded based on my own participation.

Still I'm looking forward to these next few weeks before I go back in January. I need the time to recharge and slow down a bit. Yet what happens? I immediately sit down and work on the projects that were "incomplete" at the end of the quarter.

Anyways, I will also be using this break to gather some of my school projects and upload some of the more suitable here.

I hope that everyone has an enjoyable holiday. I'm going to do my best to see to it that I have one.
